Dividing Perennials
September 15, 2011

September is a great time for dividing spring and summer blooming perennials. You should allow for four to six weeks before the ground freezes for the plants to become established. Most perennials should be divided every three to five years to help control the size of the plant and to help rejuvenate them. Some signs that your plants may need dividing include smaller than normal flowers, hollow or dead centers of the clumps, or sparse and poor bottom foliage.

Not quite sure how to divide? Don't miss our seminar on How to Divide Perennials on Saturday, September 24, 2011. This seminar will be held at both the Exton and Devon stores at 1:00 pm.
