Waterloo Gardens to Host Pink Day Fundraiser Event
May 24, 2013

Part of a campaign to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Exton, Pennsylvania (June 1, 2013) – Waterloo Gardens will be hosting Pink Day, a breast cancer fundraiser on June 1, 2013 as part of the Invincibelle® Spirit Campaign to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The event is open to the public and will be located at Waterloo Gardens, 200 North Whitford Road, in Exton, PA.

Beginning at 9 a.m. the public is invited to dress in pink clothing and costumes, and enjoy raffles, popcorn, balloons, light refreshments and candy bar, face painting from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., and a percentage of proceeds from The Pennsylvania Cookie House will be donated.

“We chose to get involved in this campaign because breast cancer is a cause that is close to many of our customers. Approximately one in eight women run the risk of developing breast cancer at some point in her life, so we all know someone who has been affected by this disease. Hosting this event is a great opportunity to have fun and raise money for a good cause,” said Jackie Waller, from Waterloo Gardens.

The Invincibelle® Spirit campaign gathers support from garden centers across North America in a joint effort to host fundraisers for BCRF. As part of the campaign, garden centers will also be displaying the new Invincibelle® Spirit pink ‘Annabelle’ hydrangea. For every Invincibelle® Spirit hydrangea sold, $1.00 will be donated to the BCRF. Like the women who have survived breast cancer, this new hydrangea is resilient and can withstand extreme conditions. It blooms from mid-summer to fall, even after harsh winters, making it a wonderful pink addition for your garden.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the BCRF for this event because they have been consistently recognized as one of the top rated cancer organizations. For every dollar the BCRF receives, a minimum of 85 cents goes towards research and awareness programs, so we know the money is going to the right place to help find a cure for breast cancer,” concluded Jackie.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an organization dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. For more information about BCRF, visit
